Come on peeps, what a brillant show captain n was to that awful super mario bros supershow cartoon. Seems as though nintendo didn't recognise the ingenuity of the cartoon. What fools they were as it would've made an excellant video game.

They didn't make a video game for it because all the characters all ready had games. It would be kinda pointless when they could get more for us to buy all the games that the characters starred in than us buying one fifty dollar game.

Pretty much what badkitty said. They used it to market what they already created. Wasn't a bad show, considering it was mostly for marketing. I enjoyed it.

There's also the matter that the characters are owned by different companies.

Mother Brain, Kid Icarus, Eggplant Wizard, King Hippo, Donkey Kong, Link, Zelda are all owned by Nintendo.

Simon Belmont is owned by Konami

Mega Man and Dr. Wily are owned by Capcom

Kevin and Lana were created for the show. I believe they officially belong to Nintendo but DiC may have some claim to the character rights.

There was a short lived Captain N comic book it only featured Nintendo characters (and Kevin and Lana of course) No Simon or Mega Man. It did however feature Samus Aran in a regular role though she never appeared on the show.

At the time all the games were exclusively licensed by Nintendo so they were able to use them for the show but that is no longer the case. If a revival were ever to happen they'd have to stick to Nintendo only characters. (of course they now have Kirby, Starfox Pokemon, Pikmen...)
