Help me remember dog cartoon please!!

Hi, i'm 24 and when I was very young (so early 90s) I remember watching this cartoon with a puppy dog, if i'm not mistaken it was brownish, and his tongue was always out, he used to go out to play, then when the night came there was a talking moon and this puppy would eat talking peas. Does anyone remember the name or something please?

Jim Henson's "Bear in the Big Blue House" (a live action puppet show) featured a talking moon called Luna, but I don't think that's what you're thinking of...
Of course, talking peas makes me think of Big Idea's "VeggieTales"- but I kinda doubt you're talking about Bob and Larry either...
