Couldn't be Speed Racer, Spritle or Sparky as that show was from the 60s in the USA and he said this character started in the 70s.

The fact that I said it wasn't male would preclude that possibility as well.

That's a hard question to answer. What do you consider young?

I'l put it this way, she is not a child or teenager. She's reached legal age.

Actually, I did answer the Team question, along with Mac's Rankin Bass question. I said: "Nope to Both" That meant both questions prior to the answer. Perhaps I should have be more specific LOL. In any case, no, she's not part of a team.

She's not Sayla Mass, and she's not blond.

Yes it is Sayaka Yumi from Mazinger Z. One of my favorite cartoons as a kid, and probably the only actual Anime I watched outside of Voltron.

I never watched a single episode of Mazinger Z, Gigantor or vehicles Voltron. The only anime I ever watched was Speed Racer and lions Voltron. And I did see Akira.

haha- I promise you, overload, I've never seen an episode of Mazinger Z. (Though I have heard the great theme song- I've got it on LP rather at random...on a record I've had since I was a kid- I didn't realize until rather recently that's what it was- it's mainly from this forum that I've found out about a lot of anime shows like this... Smile

I honestly don't care much for anime style in general, but of the few anime shows I have seen or am somewhat familiar with- my main favorites would probably be Speed Racer, Kimba the White Lion and some of late '80s Japanese anime versions of literary classics- seems they had a few. There was a version of Peter Pan that I was fond of as a kid. Smile

hahaha!. Its pretty good show. Its very strange at times but its quite interesting in terms of giant robots.

I suggest you give it a watch, preferably a dubbed version rather than the American Tranzor Z series. since it got the hell edited out of it.

You'll experience the most awesome thing ever animated Cool Cool . the infamous boob missiles from Diana and Aphrodite A. Its just so crazy its awesome. The creator's background in erotic magazines really shines through there.

Yeah, I should say so- I'm amazed and shocked that made it into a children's cartoon at that time...but then if it originated in Japan, it seems their cartoons in general tend to be a good bit more sexually risque than America's...
(a generalization I know and not meant to be a stereotype- just an observation.)
