Well, I've never been a fan of the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies (or horror movies in general), so I'm not big into this. However, I am somewhat familiar with the "Freddy's Nightmares" TV series- I don't remember it airing when I was a kid, but I wouldn't have been watching it at that age anyway, so that could be why.
I know a lot of fans have wanted to see it come to DVD and it seems like I heard at some point that Shout! Factory was looking into it- but that may have just been wishful thinking on the part of fans. However, if any company was to bring to DVD, Shout! seems like a likely bet.
You may be interested to know that I have actually run across a book series based on the movies- "Freddy Krueger's Tales of Terror"- a series of books by Bruce Richards that were published in the mid-90s - I found one at a local used book store one day and was surprised to find that a book series had been done for this character- particularly since it was aimed at teenagers- but I guess the horror and gore is toned down some for kids- at least, I hope so.
And just yesterday, I found the talking Freddy Krueger doll at an antique store- that was interesting. I didn't care to listen to Freddy talk though- lol.
