Not sure if this is the right forum for this, if it is wrong, then please do move it, but, anyone a fan of the series?

I prefer the BBC one to the VH1 version, mostly because it is UK based, so more relevent to me, but that's not to say that the VH1 version isn't any good. Me and Big Booncey are currently rewatching them, and we are enjoying them, all over again.

This forum works well for the topic.
And yes, I have seen a lot of the "I Love The '80s" series from VH1. (Haven't seen the BBC one though- that would be interesting to see.)
VH1 also did one for the 1970s and 1990s and I've seen recently that they've even done one for the 2000s, which just still seems way too early to do.....

It's an interesting look back- very often tongue-in-cheek, of course. And I notice they don't always do a lot on the weightier news events of the decades....
But I actually did recently watch some of the 1977 one to see what they said about "The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries"- one of my favorite shows as a big fan of the books. Smile Cool

I was quite happy with their coverage of "MacGyver" in their 1985 episode. Very Happy Cool

The BBC did those too.

The BBC started it all Wink . They are on youtube, if you can get around the location restriction. If not, I do have them, if anyone wanted them?

Okay- yeah, I found that out as I read up more on it. I didn't realize the BBC originally started the series when VH1 was first airing its own version in the USA. I don't know if VH1 ever acknowledged BBC as the inspiration for their series, but they really should acknowledge such things. (Of course, this kind of thing happens all the time- a show is a big hit in a country and then other countries make their own versions.)
(For example, beyond the "I Love the 80s" [and other decades] series, the BBC also made a show years ago called "Man About The House"- which got adapted in America as "Three's Company". What's funny is that they even did the same spinoff shows in America too- "George and Mildred" in the UK became "The Ropers" in the USA and "Robin's Nest" in the UK became "Three's A Crowd" in the USA.)
Of course, there are also plenty of American shows that the UK adapted into its own series as well. For instance, "Who's The Boss?" (American show) got remade in the UK as "The Upper Hand".

Okay- well, that didn't really have anything to do with anything. Just a random bit of trivia. Smile Cool

There are lists of such things here and here.

(And there are plenty of international versions of shows among countries around the world, beyond just America and England, of course.)

They did at the credits of their version. But it is that small and fast, you can barely see it.

As for international remakes, the Germans are funny at that. Sadly, the dish I had pointing at Astra to get them, the pole snapped in a strong wind and has been down a year now. And no, I can't put it back up as I'm scared of heights, otherwise, I would put it back up Sad .

Oh, sorry about that then. Maybe you can get someone to help you with putting it back up though.
