I saw this cartoon as a kid in the 80's. It was a one-off I think a cartoon-type movie. I can't remember the storyline exactly, but...

A young boy crashlands his spaceship on a planet within a forest or cave and he has a communication device that he calls 'Mike' (for microphone no doubt). He uses Mike to talk to the people that are trying to find him.

I remember it was ahead of it's time with really good music and sound effects - anyone have an idea? I've looked EVERYWHERE!!
