lost cartoon

ok so this is going to be very vague. all i remember is a cartoon from the very early 80's. dont remember what the charcters looked like. they were trying to prevent something evil returning. there were these seals that protected whatever it was they were fighting against. the seals were disc-shaped and were greyish with some markings. know this is a reach, but does anyone know what the hell i am talking about?

there was a cartoon that ran along side of My Little Pony and Friends
that involved an evil witch's lair/kingdom that could be accessed through
holes scattered about a magical kingdoms streets. The MoonDreamers sealed the holes to the witch's realm with magical manhole covers
