Hi guys,
I don't know why I haven't had this idea before, to ask on a forum..!
Basically I have VERY vague memories of a cartoon that have haunted me as long as I remember...
Ok, here is what I recall:
A hot air balloon or flying machine of some kind, flying over volcanoes that erupted blasting out beams of bright coloured light that the balloon had to dodge
Pirates! Who sang a song, something like "Oy oy oy oy oy oy.." and then something about a cutlass
Bunyips!! I'm sure that's what they were called... shaggy dog-like things that swam around in tha water... (this is NOT Dot and the Kangaroo, that's the one my fruitless internet searches have always brought me back to!!)
If someone has ANY idea what this damn thing was, I will be ETERNALLY grateful....!!

Hmmm... looking at that on Youtube... I don't THINK it was that... I think the characters were human..
You know, it could have been Australian or something, what with the Bunyips...

Hmmm, I'm starting to think maybe I dreamed this cartoon when I was younger... I mean that Bear Islan thing looks possible, but I'm sure it was people not animals... and I looked at a few clips on YouTube and there is the balloon, but I'm sure the pirates in what I remember were actual pirates, and they had a catchy song...
The bunyip... oh the bunyip... is that the part I'm dreaming?? I remember it clear as day, more than one, swimming around in the water, looking a bit like dougal from the magic roundabout...but I don' think they were integral to the story... I remember the volcanoes more than anything, the way they spewed up dead straight beams of light, each one a different colour...
Maybe its time I went off to the loony bin!!!

| there was a tv show called blinky bill and i think later on there was another blinky bill where they trael around the world in a hot air baloon house.

No, me either... lol
The description on IMDB matches what I remember, but there is NO information really about this thing!!
