Arrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhh. my friend played this obscure sound clip that I swear is from an old and really weird cartoon. The problem is, I was so young when it was on (Im 29). When he played it, it was like a slap in the face and I was a little kid watching that weird cartoon again.
It was very "alice in wonderland"ish and had a character that had a moles face (I think) and i vaguely remember something about an old lady and that it was weeeeeiiiiiiirrrdddd. Possibly underground or on another world. He keeps playing the clip to torment me, and I will loose my mind if I cant find it.

I will literally send $ 5 via paypal to the first person who can give me the name of that old and veeeeeeeery weird cartoon.

Hello all,

This thread (and board) was refered to me by Iceman, who thought I might be able to shed some light on the sound clip in question.

Unfortunately, near as I can tell this piece of audio is not from the ABC Weekend Special: The Secret World of OG. I'm lucky enough to have a copy of the show, and while there is a similarity in the audio sampling, it isn't the same.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. Strangely, I too think the audio is familar, and something tells me it may be from a British cartoon series. I'll try to do some sleuthing and I'll get back to you all.

I don't know if it helps but I did some digging and found out that Warren G's song Regulate uses a sample from the song Sign of the Times by Bob James (1981).

I can't find any reference to this song ever being used as the theme to a cartoon or other animated feature, however. The warbling synthesizer is so close as to be mimickry, however - maybe it's a different Bob James tune on the original clip from the one Warren G used?

This is a nit pick, but I have to call you on this one. Warren G sampled Michael McDonald’s – I Keep Forgettin’ (Every Time You’re Near) - 1982 for Regulate. It's the intro of I Keep Forgettin' looped with stronger bass.

I like it when rap artists use the beats from 80's tracks. You hear it and it sounds so familiar and if it's done right it's good in it's own right. I can think of quite a few I'd like to see get used, but that's off topic.

It's similar but not the same, teddy0bear. The sound from the Doctor Snuggles pogo stick doesn't sound nearly so "springy" as in the original clip. Also, the main melodic line doesn't sound anything like the theme song from Doctor Snuggles either.

A good guess, though!

I somehow remember a show which i believe was british: unfortunately i don't remember the name, but there was an old lady mostly wearing a pink/purple greenish dress or something and it mainly played in a cursed forest. There where human kids, prolly a girl adventuring around with funny little creatures... From the style and quality i think its from '82 to '85. Will post again if i come up with some more memories.
