Who remembers this movie when it first came out? I sure as hell did when i was 7 in the summer of 1989 and it was awesome, i still remember all the hype and loved it ever since.
It's an awesome movie that still holds up today even in the age of "Batman Begins".

Yea, I remember that movie. I thought Nicholson as the Joker was alright._________________

Bought it at a garage sale on dvd for $2 SCORE!
It is an awesome movie. We had it recorded onto a vhs when i was little. The part with the joker falling into the vat...edged into my memory. Mostly because it was mind boggling cool.
But, i must admit. Adam West is still BATMAN!

Well- I think all of the Batman movies reflect various stages of Batman's career. Read some of the Batman comics from the '50s and '60s- He's not always the dark, foreboding character he came to be by the revamp in the '70s and '80s.
He does have his lighter moments every now and then and Batman Forever and definitely Batman & Robin reflected that.
But I've seen all those movies and enjoy them all pretty well- though I would agree that Michael Keaton is probably my favorite- though of course Christian Bale has also quickly joined that status.

The new Batman is awesome but I liked the sinister feeling that the original had. Also - the original Joker was pretty cool. To tell you the truth, all of the Jokers have been great.. even in the campy 1960s version.
I remember the magic vibe surrounding the first one too. It just had the golden Batman seal on the poster. Damn that looked cool. The 1989 Batman was so eerie compared to Batman Begins. Not better, just completely different...

It is my favorite movie of all time, the Batman character in the comics character and now first time you see the comics character on movie, wow it's so cool. Batman begins action, style, looks, batman car all are crazy for me. This is totally different. |

Yeah, to this day i still think Micheal Keaton was the best Batman. Plus, having Jack Nicholson as the joker was a combination to be reckoned with. I actually still have the VHS. There's something nostalgic about tapes still to me. I love High Def though too don't get me wrong. As a matter of fact I'm in the market now for a minimum of a 50" LCD HDTV.

Omg, I remember this movie and how it was when it first came out. I remember seeing a line that was wrapped around the movie theater and extended all the way back. It honestly looked like it was a mile long, I have never seen anything like it.
