Hello!
I've been racking my mind over this sci-fi cartoon I used to rent on VHS from my local videostore as a kid. I have distinct, albeit sporadic and disjointed memories from several of the episodes. Hope some of you cartoon-gurus can help me out :c)
I can't remember if it's japanese or not, but it is about a group of adult people with special abilities. One is telepathic, I think, and another can enter some sort of armored, insect-like state, gaining superhuman strength.
The first episode I remember is about a telepathic alien race which is initially hostile. I believe they are organized in a hierarchical manner, sorta like a hive-mind, the 'soldier'-aliens being the ones the team fights first. I think the episode starts in space, the team being weightless in some sort of training-room. After a while, the aliens show up and attack. I remember them looking pretty weird; sorta insect-like, I guess. Our heroes attempts to fight them, but soon after comes in contact with the 'queen'-alien. The telepathic member of the team (I think she's female) starts to communicate with the 'queen', which tells of its demise as a race, fighting a war with a different alien race.
The second episode takes place on earth. All I remember from this one is that the team communicates with their HQ's computer through a virtual agent - a green sphere that pops up on a screen with which they talk (not sure if this is a series-wide character or not). In this episode, however, the computer gets a virus which results in another virtual character popping up on the screen, this one looking like a red nut (penaton- / hexagon-shape). I do remember this character as being somewhat defiant in following orders given by the team. I do remember there being more to the episode than that, but my memories are too incoherent and jumbled for me to explain :cp
It is a very "spacecrafty", "high-techy", science-fiction show. Since I rented it on VHS, I have no idea if it actually ran on TV or not, but there were definitely several episodes on several tapes.
Hope I stirred up someone else's memories (that are hopefully better than mine) and that you can help me. Appreciate it :c)
