Name of dog action figure

Hey, I've given up. Anyone know who this is? It's a toy that came along with some used toys I bought a while ago. All I know is that it is made by Kenner in 1998 and it's from DC Comics. My comics-fu is improving but still not great. Kind of looks like Ace from batman beyond but the green and purple battle armour is throwing me off. There is also this square hole on top of the armour which makes me think something connects to it. Ideas?

In 1998, the major DC comics TV shows and films that would have had merchandise tie-ins would be "Superman: The Animated Series", "Batman: The Animated Series", "Batman Beyond", "Static Shock" or "Batman & Robin"- but I don't think it's from that movie. More than likely one of the cartoons I mentioned- I would guess you may be on the right track with Ace, the Bat-Hound. It could also possibly be one of The Joker's hounds, as I seem to recall him having dogs along with Harley Quinn's hyenas, but I could be wrong.
