I can't remember this series name. It's a scifi from late 80's or early 90's.
I have a faint memory about this:
- group that went into a planet that was occupied by robots
- there was a young boy on the group and he had a squirrel
- the boy also had a flying robot that looked like pterodactyl or pteradonon or whatever flying finosaur, I think it was yellow
- the group were looking for the boys father I think
- there were some friendly humanoid like beings on the planet who had blueish(?) skin
- the boy gave his squirrel to a humanoid girl
- the series name might have had a year with it
- the antagonist was a robot that had mouth made of square shaped lights
- I think the series had a bit dark atmosphere
- It might have been anime, or not. I don't remember the style so well anymore
I searched for this cartoon from the forum but didn't find it... I hope someone else would remember this. None of my friends does = (

Nope, it wasn't that.
The cartoon I seek had darker atmosphere and it was maybe for a little older audience.
Gulliver's travels beyond the moon seems to be for small children.

The only other "squirrel" in a sci fi setting
I can think of is Naussicca's pet fox-squirrel
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
got any more info?

No, it wasn't Nausicaä (which is a very good anime indeed!)
Hmm... When I push myself to remember, I recall there were men that were dressed like space marines from Warhammer 40k.
...many series must have those so I don't know if it helps
