A long time ago I saw this futuristic cartoon movie that has crept its way back into the back of my mind...and I just can't remember the name and only vaguely remember the story or details. Here's what I remember:

-Futuristic

- Some white boy is turned by a white orb/light/ball into a big black man

- Probably adult cartoon, as I recall some nudity, but not pornographic

- I think I remember spaceships...

- Had little dialogue

- Movie had several stories, not just one. (Not totally sure about this one, I THINK the movie revolved around the white orb/light/crystal/ball thingy

- Saw it on Cinemax, a long time ago...if that helps

Any ideas?

Sounds like the cult classic,...

Heavy Metal (81)
inspired by the comic book
Heavy Metal

A man returns home from a orbital salvage mission
after finding a strange orb. He's greeted by his little
daughter. The man examines the orb(Loc Nar) and
is suddenly, and gruesomely vaporized. The girl
looks on in terror as the Loc Nar begins to speak
and tell her it's tale.

Harry Canyon

A cabbie and the beautiful daughter of an archeologist
try to keep the Loc-Nar out of the clutches of a criminal
kingpin

Den
The Loc-Nar teleports a young boy to another dimension
and transforms him into the muscular hero Den

Captain Stern
On a distant space station Captain Sternn is outwardly noble,
but inwardly horribly corrupt. Captain Sternn is on trail for his
crimes. His bribed witness finds the Loc-Nar on his way to the
court and it transforms him into a raging hulk, which’s hell-bent on
destroying the criminal captain

B17
A B17 plane encounters a hail of gunfire and
most of the crew is killed. The Loc-nar lands
inside the plane a transforms the corpses into
zombies. The single surviving pilot ditches the
plane and parachutes onto a remote island.
His relief is brief. Moments later he discovers
the island is infested with similarly zombie
inhabited planes and the undead surround him.

So Beautiful So Dangerous
A beautiful young secretary finds herself
touring the universe with the alien crew of
a spaceship

Taarna

The Loc-Nar launches a vicious assault on humanity in the form of
a bloodthirsty warlord and his army horde. Humanity's last hope is
the sexy female warrior Taara. She's the last member of an ancient
warrior caste specially trained to battle the evil entity.

Heavy Metal

Yeah it's a popular cult movie.
It even influenced other cartoons

In the case of South Park
In episode titled Major Boobage
Kenny experiences a new high
from cat urine, and visits a fantasy
world modeled after the Taara sequence
in Heavy Metal

USA Network seemed to have had a
more kid friendly four series crossover
event threaded together by an all powerful
orb.(maybe Loc-Nar's more eco-friendly cousin?)
