There is a purple looking owl (no good pics can't tell colour) in Princess Gwenever (Starla) and the jewel riders and there is one person who has the Moon Stone. Thats kinda close.

Another one just came to me! It was a bunch of combined animals, they kinda reminded me of Popples... I remember the main guy was a cross between a bumble bee and a lion... does that ring a bell with anyone??

The Wuzzles (85)

The Wuzzles were hybrid animals that lived in a village on a small tropical island. The hippo (Hoppopotamus) was mostly hippo and a little bit bunny(hippo with bunny ears, buck teeth, and cotton-tail).
Rhinomonkey was a bit of a prankster. Hoppopotamus seems to have had a crush on brave Bubblelion (lion & bubble bee) a little lion with wings and dark stripes, but he had eyes for little butterbear (bear/butterfly)
