Yeah!!! Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors is coming to DVD!!! Very Happy Cool

I don't really remember watching this much as a kid, but after hearing so much about it, I decided to pick up the 4-episode DVD that had been released a few years ago- and I enjoy it pretty well. So it'd be neat seeing the whole series! Look for it early next year!

Cool, another DiC production getting released on DVD. I hope this means we are getting closer to seeing a MASK DVD boxset. All 75 episodes worth.

On topic though, Jayce was fun, never really got the whole Plants turning into Vehicles thing, but it was fun.

Was there ever an episode where Jayce actually finds his father and rejoins the magic seed thing together?

There's an episode called "Dream World" where Jayce and his crew land on a planet called Dream World- where everyone's dreams come true, according to legend. And Jayce is in fact reunited with his father, Audric, and they start grafting the Roots together, but things take a sinister turn when the Monster Minds show up.

Of course, the last episode- "Final Ride at Journey's End" sounds like it's pretty definitive. Smile

And here's something else interesting I didn't realize- J. Michael Straczynski actually wrote a lot of the episodes- wow! This is the same guy behind such cool stuff as Babylon 5.
Cool

hmm, Interesting. I've read a few things by him, never pegged him for a Cartoon writer though.

Awesome, but I hope they don't drop the ball like C.O.P.S. It will be pretty sucky, if they only release one vol Sad. But I still get it, better then nothing, hehe.

Wow- check it out! Here's the cover art for the release, along with some pretty cool extras.
There's some rare original concept art from Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors being included as well as scripts for 2 episodes.

Look for Volume 1 out on March 25th.
Very Happy Cool

JMS actually got his START as a cartoon writer. He wrote for Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, the Real Ghostbusters (which is where I first heard his name), the original He-Man cartoon and Captain Power and the Soldiers of the future (okay, not a cartoon, but still the same era). It's partly thanks to his quality writing that a lot of those old faves still hold up so well today - the man knows how to spin a good yarn!

And might I add, Shout Factory is the company releasing Jayce. They pulled a TON of strings to get this one, so let's all do our part to support the effort an dprompt the release of the second half of the series! Previous releases of theirs that started great then were stopped due to poor sales: C.O.P.S. and Inspector Gadget. Let's not let the same fate befall Jayce!

Hey! Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors is coming back to DVD!!! Very Happy
Mill Creek is rolling out a Volume 1 set with the first 32 episodes on February 14, 2012. (There's a Valentine's Day gift for ya. Very Happy )
(They're also doing a "Best Of" set with 10 episodes releasing that same day.)
According to this article below, it looks a second volume should follow shortly thereafter, which would hopefully get the rest of the episodes not released to DVD yet (33 of them)- finally officially released. Cool

Check out the cover art for both the "Volume 1" and "Best Of" DVD releases! These will both soon be released and hopefully "Volume 2" will follow soon thereafter and finally complete this cartoon series on DVD! Very Happy

Cool! I really liked the show as a kid. I use to draw my own version/ideals for the vehicles. Some I wish I had kept them.

I still have the 1st DVD that has only a few episodes. It would be great to own them all.

I've been thinking about making a Jaycees and the Wheeled Warriors fan site.

What do you all think? Would anyone be interested?

I'm not really very familiar with the cartoon, but I always like to encourage creative output! Jaycee and the Wheeled Warriors could use a cool fan site. Go for it! Very Happy Cool

what??? Not familiar with Jayce and the wheeled warriors? Haha just kidding.

But yeah, I've been thinking about it. I remember I use to draw my own Jayce vehicles in school. I was pretty good too. Haha.

As far as fansite projects go, I've been thinking about Jayce and the wheeled warriors, Heman, voltron, and M.A.SK.

This coming from the person who wasn't familiar with ThunderCats Wink
Okay, for the record, I'm somewhat familiar with Jayce- I actually have watched some episodes and I enjoy it pretty well. I just didn't grow up with it as a kid- either I never caught when it aired or it just didn't air where I lived (I had rather limited TV selections- lol)
But yeah- it's a cool show. Cool
